Applications for the "16th TRT International Documentary Awards" have begun.

According to a statement from TRT, applications for the event, which will be held with the motto "Whose Story, Whose Truth?" this year, can be made at "www.trtbelgesel.com."

Participation in the competition, which aims to create a platform where documentarians from all over the world can come together and exchange ideas, will continue until October 3.

This year, the TRT International Documentary Awards aim to trace the hidden truths and bring together documentary audiences with stories about people, nature, life, and history from different geographies and cultures of the world.

The awards will be open to all documentary films that meet the application requirements, as well as projects in the idea and story stages that have not yet begun production.

Participation in the competition is free, and awards will be given in four categories: International Category, National Professional Category, National Student Films Category, and Project Support Category.

A total of 12 awards will be given in all categories within the scope of the competition.

The pre-selection results of the competition will be announced on October 10. Following the evaluations of the selection committee between November 6-9, the winners will receive their awards at a ceremony on November 9.

The event, which supports professional and amateur documentaries in Türkiye and around the world, will showcase a special selection of documentaries submitted to the competition in award categories for three days.

Additionally, the programs, which will include master classes, talks, and workshops with documentary professionals, will be open to all participants and free of charge.
